Crunchy yet buttery textured, pleasantly sweet, and delicious pine nuts are small edible seeds (kernels) of the female cone on a pine tree. Pine kernels are, indeed, a splendid source of plant-derived nutrients, essential minerals, vitamins, and “heart-friendly” monounsaturated fatty acids that help health immensely by reducing bad cholesterol levels in the blood.
Spray free, ethically grown our product is traceable to our land on the Banks Peninsula on the step slopes on which they are grown. Our product is not bleached, heat treated or irradiated and is picked by hand.
Pine nuts are technically not a nut but a seed so can be suitable for people with severe Nut Allergies. They can be added to meat, fish, salad and vegetable dishes, baked into bread and are an essential component of Pesto Sauce. They can be used in chocolates, cakes, biscuits and desserts such as baklava. They can be ground into a flour, made into Pine nut butter and pressed into an oil.
