Pine nuts are the edible seed of pine trees (Pinus pinea) which we planted some 17 years ago. Pine nuts contain between 10-34% protein, are rich in oil and are a good source of vitamin B1 (thiamine). They are also a great source of Dietary fibre. Pine nuts are also known for other health benefits such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Harvested from the steep slopes of our small pine nut forest on the Banks Peninsula by hand.
Crunchy yet buttery textured, pleasantly sweet, and delicious pine nuts are small edible seeds (kernels) of the female cone on a pine tree. Pine kernels are, indeed, a splendid source of plant-derived nutrients, essential minerals, vitamins, and “heart-friendly” monounsaturated fatty acids that help health immensely by reducing bad cholesterol levels in the blood.
